PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller pair device, preventing noise generated at least at the time of pressure contact of a pair of rollers capable of coming into contact with each other and separating from each other. SOLUTION: This roller pair device 1 includes: a first roller 10, a second roller coming into contact with and separating from the first roller; and a pressure applying member 33 for applying the pressure for pressing the second roller to the first roller, wherein a sheet material 2 is held between the first roller and the second roller put in the pressure-contact position and transported. The device includes displacing mechanisms 3, 41, 42 for regulating and displacing the second roller 20 in displacing from the separating position P2 to the pressure contact position P2 so that the moving locus L of the shaft 21 of the second roller at least immediately before contact with the first roller 10 is substantially parallel to the tangent S in a contact point Q with the first roller.
