A data reproducing method, a data reproducing apparatus, an optical disc, and a data recording/reproducing apparatus are provided to reproduce data accurately from the optical disc having a recording mark which is lower than a diffraction limit. An optical head includes a light source(231), an optical system(232), and a photo detector(233). The optical system(232) has an objective lens which condenses a beam emitted from the light source(231) to an optical disc. The photo detector(233) receives the beam reflected from the optical disc. An RF signal generating circuit(28d) generates an RF signal from the signal outputted from the photo detector(233). When recorded data are recorded in recording marks arranged by a pitch which is lower than a diffraction limit, a decoder(28e) corrects the phase distortion of the RF signal. The decoder(28e) extracts a clock from the corrected RF signal. The decoder(28e) is synchronized to the extracted clock. The decoder(28e) decodes the recorded data from the RF signal.
