PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carboxylic acid having an asymmetric point at theβ-position in high yield and in high selectivity, and to provide a nucleophilic agent therefor. SOLUTION: This method for producing the carboxylic acid derivative having an asymmetric point at theβ-position is characterized by reacting an alkylidene malonate with an enamide structure in the presence of a catalyst containing a copper compound and an asymmetric carbon atom-having diamine.
