REVERSIBLE PHASE CHANGE COMPOSITIONS

摘要

A reversible liq./solid phase compsn. comprises hydrataed MgCl2 and as a nucleating additive one or more compounds selected from CaO, Ca(OH)2, Mg(OH)2, MgO and CaC2O4. The additive suppresses the average supercooling of the MgCl2 liq. phase to about 2≦̸C or less. Pref. the hydrated MgCl2 contains about 46% MgCl2 and the balance is water. Up to 2% of nucleating additive is pref. used. The compsn. is useful for heat storage with solar energy systems for space and water heating.
