PURPOSE:To prevent water infiltration from outside by using a non-woven fabric tape coated with an absorbing resin layer on one or both sides as a pressure winding tape provided with laminated aluminum-polyethylene layers in succession. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber cable is composed by wrapping a center tensile strength body 1 of a steel wire and the optical fiber core wire 2 with a flexible layer 3 composed of a polypropylene yarn, and subsequently by wrapping the layer 3 with the laminated aluminum-polyethylene (LAP) layer 4 followed by wrapping the layer 4 with a lapping layer 5. The tape of the LAP layer 4 is composed of a layer coated the one surface or the both surfaces of the plastic unwoven fabric (a) with the absorbing resin (b). The plastic nonwoven fabric (a) with the absorbing resin (b). The plastic nonwoven fabric (a) is exemplified by polyethylene and polypropylene. The absorbing resin (b) is exemplified by starch-acrylic acid graft polymer, etc.
