A machine for cutting through hard material such as concrete or stone, consists of an arm (3) which supports a motor (1) at its upper end. The motor drives an oscillating arm to which two straps (5) are attached. The straps impart an oscillating motion to a half disc (2) mounted on the lower end of the arm (3). The periphery of the disc and the outer surface of one of the straps are provided with diamond segments. The arm (3) has a central longitudinal hole through which cooling air or water is supplied to passageways (7) in order to lubricate and cool the cutting edges. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cutting through thick concrete. The supply of cooling air or water reduces the tool wear.
