TAPE CLEANER FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a tape and a tape guide from being damaged by a foreign matter, to prevent the foreign matter from arriving at a drum device and to execute high reliable recording/reproducing. CONSTITUTION:By a supply-side tape cleaner 50 arranged just before a position where the magnetic tape 7 enters the drum device 1 in contact with the magnetized surface side of the tape 7 and a take-up-side tape cleaner 60 arranged just after a position where the tape 7 leaves the drum device 1, foreign matter stuck to the magnetized surface of the tape entering and leaving the drum device 1 is eliminated in the tape traveling of both normal and reverse directions. Thus, the foreign matter can be eliminated not only from the magnetic tape entering the drum device but also from the magnetic tape passed through the lead part of the drum device being the main generating source of the foreign matter to be stuck to the surface of the magnetic tape in a helical scanning system magnetic recording and reproducing device.
