PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly scroll a map at a high speed by temporarily displaying the region not affordable for the drawing process on the map displayed on a display device as a blank map without temporarily stopping the scrolling speed of the map, conducting the map drawing process on a memory during that time, and switching the blank map display to the map display when the drawing process is finished. SOLUTION: When a display control device 3 reads out the map data to be displayed on a display device 5 from a memory 4, a data selecting device 6 detects divided regions on the memory 4 via a synchronization signal generating counter for the image signal based on the command from a micro-processor 1. The data selecting device 6 selects whether to display the data read out for multiple divided regions on the memory 4 or the data for the blank map display prepared in the data selecting device 6 in advance. |
