<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an instrument on the orderer side and an instrument on the order receiver side develop mutually the same color regarding an optional target color. <P>SOLUTION: In color development control between a plurality of instruments which output colors, the plurality of instruments output color charts the color of which is developed by all specifiable color specification values respectively, colorimetric measurements of the color charts are performed, obtained colorimetric values are converted into data of device independent colors and a retrieval table for associating a color specification value and the data about the device independent color is created for each instrument. A correspondence table in which the color specification values of two instruments are associated is created by using the retrieval table. In the case of color development, print data for a first instrument, the name of the first instrument and the name of a second instrument are received, the print data for the first instrument are converted into print data for a second instrument by using the correspondence table between the first and second instruments and the converted print data are outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
