The manure is delivered by a standpipe (8) to a nozzle (10) via a pipe-joint allowing swivelling movement. The components are accommodated in a housing (4-7). The joint (11) comprises a ball (12) with a through bore, onto which a cowl fits (13) and is open to the atmosphere. The bore and the cowl opening (14) are connected together. The ball and cowl together form a sliding sealing joint, and are secured by the housing. The cowl can be connected to the nozzle via a curved spout (15), while a fork (26) hinges on the cowl. The axes (X,Y,Z) of the nozzle, the fork prong bearings (22, 23) and the fork stem (27) all pass through the ball centre.
