PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrometry device, an image formation device, and a method for spectrometry that can suppress reduction in measurement accuracy due to an external light amount and can execute rapid spectrometry.SOLUTION: A printer containing a spectrometry device includes: a light source for emitting an illumination light to a medium A; a spectroscope 17 with a wavelength variable interference filter for dispersing incoming light from the medium; an external light sensor 18 for detecting the amount of external light incoming to the medium A; and a CPU 154 functioning as light amount control means for controlling the amount of illumination light to be emitted from the light source so that the ratio of the optical amount of the illumination light and the external light will be a first value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
