PURPOSE: An Internet phone terminal and a secret communication method using the same terminal are provided to enable a transmitter to encode a data packet transceived for voice calls and to transmit the encoded data packet, and to enable a receiver to decode the encoded data packet to reproduce the decoded data packet, thereby preventing the third party from listening to the voice calls. CONSTITUTION: A transmission portion(100) comprises as follows. An A/D converter(102) converts an inputted voice signal into a digital signal. A compressor(104) compresses the digital voice signal at low rate. A data encoder(106) forms voice data as secret data by using encoding algorithm. A data transmitter(108) transmits the secret data to an Internet phone terminal of other party through an Internet network(50). A receiving portion(110) comprises as follows. A data receiver(112) receives the secret data through the Internet network(50). A data decoder(114) converts the received secret data into general voice data. A voice restorer(116) cancels compressed general voice data. A D/A converter(118) converts a digital voice signal into an analog voice, and outputs the analog voice.
