PURPOSE:To enable a temp. detecting element to be brought into pressurized contact with a heat roller for the time when a temp. control is needed by using a shape memory alloy which transforms to maintain the temp. detecting element in contact with the heat roller to form a holder. CONSTITUTION:The temp. detecting element 15 and the holder 17 formed of the shape memory alloy which maintains the temp. detecting element 15 and the heat roller 3 in a non-contact state when the heat roller 3 is below the temp. for starting preliminary rotation for fixing and transforms to maintain the temp. detecting element 15 in contact with the heat roller 3 when the fixing roller 8 attains the temp. for starting the preliminary rotation are provided. A control means which starts the preliminary rotation of the heat roller by detecting the contact of the temp. detecting element 15 with the heat roller 3 is provided as well. The temp. detecting element is thereby brought into contact with the heat roller only when the temp. control of the heat roller is needed, by which the damage of the heat roller is prevented and the service life thereof is maintained long. |
