Detecting approach positions between stator and rotor - by detecting contact in test circuit connected to stator and rotor shaft of spiral loader

The rotor is carried on a shaft mounted in the stator via a bearing. The stator (1) and rotor (4) are mutually electrically insulated and are connected in series to an electrical test arrangement which responds to current flowing through it. The rotor is turned w.r.t. the stator. A contact is made in the test circuit at an approach point. The bearing (8,9) of the shaft carrying the rotor can contain casing shaped insulating layers (10,11) and the electrical test arrangement (16) is connected to the stator and the shaft (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - Determining positions at which rotor and stator approach in mechanism of spiral loader type in loading of driven vehicle engine connected to exhaust gas turbo loader for air compression. Enables presence of approach points and their angular positions to be determined by simple arrangement.
