PURPOSE: To provide a soliton pulse light source for making uniform the energy, shape, and width of an emission pulse to improve a harmonic mode lock ring laser. CONSTITUTION: A harmonic mode lock ring laser is improved, where it has a means 12 for constituting a closed-loop light transmission line, an active laser medium 15 for emitting coherent light along the light transmission line, and means 18 and 19 that are arranged in the transmission line and propagate light pulses as a light pulse train with a period that is fully equal to 1/integer of a time where the light pulse passes in the light transmission line. Then, a Fabry-Perot light resonator is arranged 24 in the closed-loop light transmission line and the free spectrum range of a light resonator is set fully equal to the pulse repetition rate of the light pulse in a ring laser. |
