PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To semi-quantitatively analyze lysozyme in urine by adding a straight- chain or branched chain alkanesulfonic acid or its salt containing a plurality of carbon atoms in an alkyl group into a protein error indicator. SOLUTION: This method comprises a process of adding an alkanesulfonic acid having 9-15 carbon atoms or sulfonate to a reagent, and a detectable discoloration is caused by the lysozyme in a sample according to the magnitude of alkyl group or the alkanesulfonic acid concentration in the aqueous sample. Since these selective suppressing materials capable of suppressing the response to human serum albumin and/or 1gG while improving the protein error indicator response to lysozyme improve the specific property to lysozyme proposed by the series, they are desirable additives for the reagent for measuring lysozyme. These materials can improve (activate) lysozyme response.
