<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize automatic modification of IP addresses given to terminals connected to a router, when the router's IP address or a subnet mask value is modified. SOLUTION: When one or both of a router's IP address and a subnet mask value is/are modified by a user, a new network address is calculated based on the modified router device IP address and the subnet mask value (steps 501 through 503). If any IP addresses of terminals connected to any ports of the router are outside the scope of the new network address, the router device modifies the relevant addresses in accordance with predetermined rules so that the modified addresses are within the scope of the modified network address (steps 504 through 508).</p> |
