PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical epilation apparatus capable of supplying prescribed energy required for epilation to hair roots without performing the cooling treatment of a skin surface and changing optical energy in accordance with a skin color and supplying it to the skin surface. SOLUTION: Light emitted from a light emitting device 8 passes through a first condenser lens 20, a convex lens 21, an optical energy density adjusting means 30 and a second condenser lens 40, and light beams are converged and reach a prescribed depth from the skin surface. Since the optical energy density adjusting means 30 has a function capable of adjusting the diameter of a beam made incident on the second condenser lens 40 like a beam expander, the beam diameter is adjusted in accordance with the skin color and the density of the optical energy to be supplied to the skin surface is changed.
