PURPOSE: A system and a method for measuring position information by using wireless communication network are provided to precisely measure position of a user only with function and information of a communication network itself. CONSTITUTION: The first measurement frame is provided to measure a distance between a mobile terminal and a wireless base station and the measurement frame is transmitted to the mobile terminal(601). An azimuth of the mobile terminal obtained through a direction detection antenna is received(603). A position of the mobile terminal is calculated on the basis of the second measurement frame which is re-transmitted by the mobile terminal when operation delay time elapses and the azimuth(605).
