摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane/electrode assembly for a solid polymer fuel cell having high initial power generating performance and keeping stable output characteristics for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the membrane/electrode assembly for the solid polymer fuel cell is that a cathode and an anode each having a catalyst layer containing catalyst powder in which catalyst metal particles are carried in a carbon carrier are adjacently arranged to an ion-exchange membrane. A coating solution for forming the catalyst layer is prepared by mixing the catalyst power with a perfluorocarbon polymer having a sulfonic group, and the catalyst layer obtained by coating the coating solution is used as the catalyst layer of at least one of the anode and the cathode, and in a process on the way of the manufacturing method, a process conducting ozone treatment to the catalyst powder or the carbon carrier is contained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
