<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a base and a lid for forming a choke cavity in a mass-production such as die-casting and less cutting with good productivity, and to effectively mitigate the thermal stress in a joint if a it is applied to the joint of the base and the lid, and to enhance the heat radiation property. <P>SOLUTION: A container for housing a high frequency component comprises a base 2 which is formed with a recess 2a for housing the high frequency component operating by a high-frequency signal on its upper surface and is made of metal and a flat lid 1 which is joined at the periphery of the recess 2a on the upper surface of the base 2, and has a lower surface parallel to a bottom surface of the recess 2a. A choke cavity 4 is provided in the joint of the base 2 and the lid 1 over the overall periphery, with a gap 4a interconnected to at least one of the inside and outside of the base 2 at its upper end and/or lower end in order to prevent the high-frequency signal from leaking. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
