PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultrasonic tomograms of good picture quality by eliminating the influence of pulsation. SOLUTION: An image reconfiguring part 31 which receives the input of radial image data from an image data storage device via a data transfer bus 23 to reconstruct an image such as a three-dimensional image for output to the data transfer bus 23, a distortion detecting part 32 for detecting the amount of distortion of the image data from the image reconfiguring part 31, and an image distortion correcting part 33 for correcting the amount of distortion detected by the distortion detecting part 32 are arranged within an arithmetic processor 14. The image reconfiguring part 31 reconfigures image data according to the output of the image distortion correcting part 33 and outputs it to the data transfer bus 23.
