PURPOSE: A service providing method of a multimedia private mail box is provided to enable a message to be stored and the stored message to be searched by a user by connecting to the private mail box when trying a speech in absence. CONSTITUTION: In a service providing method of a multimedia private mail box, an exchange tries call setting with a receiver when a call set request signal is input from a transmitter(S301,S302). Whether the receiver is busy is checked(S303). If not, whether in absence is checked(S304). If so, connecting to a picture mail box is set(S306). If not, a call is set(S305). If the receiver is busy, connecting to the picture mail box is set(S306). After sending a subscriber number of the receiver to the picture mail box, a greetings picture is sent from the picture mail box(S308). The sent greetings picture is transferred to the transmitter(S309). After inputting a service select signal(S310), the sort of the service select signal is judged(S311).
