<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply set a printing condition suited to a printed matter use environment. <P>SOLUTION: When a printed matter use condition acquisition means 105 in a printing instruction device 10 is brought close to a communication means 301 attached to a printed matter use condition constitution object 30 and a condition acquisition button is depressed, a printed matter use condition 400 is acquired from the printed matter use condition acquisition means 105. The printing instruction device 10 automatically sets parameters of a printing condition selection menu 104C in accordance with the obtained printed matter use condition 400. While observing a screen, a user manually changes partial correction of the parameters when necessary. The printing instruction device 10 prepares a printing condition 401 in accordance with the depression of a printing start button 104D and transfers data 402 to be printed which are obtained from the device 10 or another server on a network and the prepared printing condition to the printer 20 by a counter printer communication means 106.
