<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating hydrogen, which generates a stable amount of hydrogen with time and, on the other hand, can swiftly change the supply amount of the hydrogen. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for generating hydrogen, which generates hydrogen 33 by bringing a hydrogen supply body 30 containing a hydrogenated derivative of an aromatic compound into contact with a metal-support catalyst 10. The apparatus 1 for generating hydrogen is provided with: a hydrogen supply body storing means 2 housing the hydrogen supply body 30, a reactor 3 having the metal-support catalyst 10, a hydrogen supply body feeding means 5 feeding the hydrogen supply body 30 to the reactor 3, and a gas-liquid separation means 4 separating a product 32 generated in the reactor 3 into the hydrogen 33 and a liquid component 34. The apparatus 1 for generating hydrogen has a 1st buffer tank 6 storing at first the hydrogen 33 separated by the gas-liquid separation means 4, and has a 2nd buffer tank 15 via a pressure booster pump 42. The inside of the 1st buffer tank 6 is kept under a normal or negative pressure, and that of the 2nd buffer tank 15 is kept under a high pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
