<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system that eliminates moving of a device and setting of initialization, for example, and that enables maintenance of the device to be performed by opening the cover even if the system is in operation, in consideration of occurrence of the system stoppage with varied timing in maintenance. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming system composed of a sheet processor such as a folder 500, a bookbinder 600 and a finisher 700, and of an image forming device 100, there is provided a CPU circuit section 150 that discriminates whether an image forming operation and a sheet transporting operation are to be stopped or continued, correspondingly to the opening of any one cover among a plurality of covers, and on the basis of the setting contents set by an operation display device 400, with control performed on the discrimination result by the CPU circuit section 150. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
