PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector 10 capable of quickly and simply creating a color correction table used for projecting an easy to see image in a desired color onto a screen 200. SOLUTION: The projector 10 for projecting image data received from an image input apparatus 100 onto the screen 200, includes: a white LED 300 for projecting a white light onto the screen 200; an optical sensor 110 for capturing a reflected light from the screen 200; an XYZ value conversion section 50 for converting a reflecting characteristics of color components of the reflected light measured by the optical sensor 110 into color coordinate values; a color correction table creating section 60 for creating the color correction table on the basis of the values of the XYZ value conversion section 50; and a color correction section 30 for rewriting the color correction table, and projects the white light of the white LED onto the screen 200 so as to create the color correction table corresponding to a state of the surface of the screen 200 until the luminance of a lamp of the projector 10 reaches a prescribed luminance after the power supply of the projector 10 is turned on.
