<p>A wiper blade (100) for cleaning the surface of glass (19) in a vehicle (18) utilizes a wiper-providing body (101) including a spine portion (102) and a wiping element (108 or 110) for engaging the surface of glass to be cleaned and an elongated cleaning element (112) which is mounted for movement relative to the spine portion. Juxtaposed magnetic devices (132, 134) are secured within the spine portion and the cleaning element for biasing the cleaning element away from the spine portion of the wiper-providing body so that during use of the wiper blade, the cleaning element is biased toward the glass surface by the repelling forces of the magnetic devices and is maintained in a spaced relationship with the spine portion so that during use of the wiper blade, the cleaning element is permitted to shift in position relative to the wiper-providing body and the spine portion.</p>
