<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image forming apparatus to separately detach an image forming unit and a photoreceptor unit and to prevent a photoreceptor from being damaged by any member of the image forming unit striking against the photoreceptor of the photoreceptor unit when the image forming unit is detached from the photoreceptor unit supported by a drawer, the image forming apparatus having the drawer supported so that it can be pulled from the main body of the image forming apparatus and being structured such that the image forming unit supported by the drawer and the photoreceptor unit can be detached with the drawer kept out of the main body of the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When the drawer 31, the photoreceptor unit 41, and the image forming unit 24 are pulled out from the main body of the image forming apparatus 24, the photoreceptor unit 41 is moved downward in relation to the image forming unit 24, thereby separating the photoreceptor 3 of the photoreceptor unit 41 from the members of the image forming units 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
