This copper powder contains an organic compound which contains carbon and nitrogen. The value of PC/SSA that is the ratio of the carbon content ratio PC (mass%) to the specific surface area SSA (m2/g) is from 0.005 to 0.1 (inclusive), and the value of PN/SSA that is the ratio of the nitrogen content ratio PN (mass%) to the specific surface area SSA (m2/g) is from 0.001 to 0.05 (inclusive). It is preferable that the organic compound contains two or more nitrogen atoms in each molecule and is capable of forming a five-membered ring complex together with copper. It is also preferable that the organic compound is composed of one or more compounds selected from among dimethyl glyoxime, ethylene diamine and polyethyleneimines.
