PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron tip for soldering iron which can correspond to a lead-free solder and which prevents the oxidation of the iron tip at high temp. and the adhesive wettability of the solder caused by the oxidation. SOLUTION: An iron-nickel alloy plating is applied to the surface of the copper or the copper alloy-made base body 1 of the iron tip. Then, the hardness of this iron-nickel alloy plating film 2 is <= about 300 micro Vickers hardness. Further, the layer thickness of the alloy plating layer can be made to e.g. about 50-500μm. On the other hand, instead of the plating, on the tip part of the copper or copper alloy-made base body, the iron-nickel alloy-made coating member (bulk material) can be used to constitute the iron-tip. Further, the iron-nickel alloy is composed of e.g. about 5-80 wt.% iron. Then, the tip material can be applied not only to the iron tip for soldering iron but also to a nozzle for solder sucking machine.
