PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perceptually uniformly estimate the spectral reflectivity of a color outputted by an image output device with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The prescribed number of pieces of measured data composed of a set of a color separation value and a spectral reflectivity corresponding to the color separation value are prepared on the basis of a plurality of color patches outputted from the image output device (S1). A nonlinear function learning device is prepared (S2). The spectral reflectivity is made to pass through a filter with respect to each piece of the measured data, and a low reflectivity part of the spectral reflectivity is amplified (S3). The nonlinear function learning device is made to learn with the color separation value as teacher input data and with the corresponding spectral reflectivity is teacher output data on the basis of the amplified measured data (S4). The color separation value is inputted to the learned nonlinear function learning device, and respective outputted spectral reflectivities are made to pass through a filter having a characteristic opposite from that of the filter used in the step (S3) to obtain an estimated spectral reflectivity (S5).
