A method and an apparatus for detecting a disconnection of a lead line of a remote meter are provided to obtain accurate meter value by recognizing a disconnection state of the lead line in a distal location. An electronic meter(10) generates a pulse signal corresponding to a used amount of water. An integrator/calculator(12) accumulates the pulse signal from the electronic meter and stores the accumulated result as meter data. Field lead lines for transmitting pulse signals are connected to the electronic meter and the integrator/calculator. A sense lead line, which is connected to a grounded pulse lead line, is connected to a disconnection detector(16). The meter data from the integrator/calculator and a disconnection signal from the disconnection detector are converted to a wireless signal and the wireless signal is transmitted by a wireless transmitter(14) through an antenna to a server. |
