摘要 A liquid crystal display is provided to solve a problem that non-uniformity of the direction of an electric field degrades an aperture ratio because of a portion where alignment of liquid crystal molecules is not controlled. A gate line and a data line(141) are formed on the first insulation substrate(100) and insulatively cross each other to define a pixel area. A pixel electrode is electrically connected with the gate line and the data line and includes the first stem electrode(161) parallel to the data line, a plurality of first branch electrodes(162) connected to the first stem electrode and being substantially parallel to each other, and the first corner electrode positioned at a connection region between the first stem electrode and the first branch electrodes and extending to a region between the first branch electrodes. A common electrode is formed on the second insulation substrate(200) and includes a plurality of second branch electrodes(252) positioned between the first branch electrodes and arranged to be substantially parallel to the first branch electrodes, the second stem electrodes(251) connecting the second branch electrodes, and the second corner electrode positioned at a connection region between the second branch electrodes and extending to a region between the second branch electrodes. A liquid crystal layer(300) is interposed between the first and second insulation substrates.
