<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with repeated transfer of same data from a host device via an interface to a printer when a plurality of copies of the same image are printed by the printer. <P>SOLUTION: Since a printer can have an additional recording medium connected thereto, when the plurality of copies of the same image are printed, the additional recording medium is used as a recording data storage buffer for printing the copies in second and the subsequent times. Therefore, the recording data transferred for printing the first copy is stored in the additional recording medium, and at the printing of the second and subsequent copies, recording is carried out by using the recording data stored in the additional recording medium.
