<p>PURPOSE:To excellently detect a tracking error signal by setting a section where a crosstalk quantity can be detected long regardless of a tracking format. CONSTITUTION:A frequency signal (f1) detecting the crosstalk quantity is recorded every four tracks and only on one adjacent track of tracks where a signal for detecting timing (f2) or (f3) is recorded. Then, the crosstalk quantity in one direction is detected every time respective tracks are scanned by a second head. Besides, when two tracks are scanned by the second head 2, a tracking error is detected. That means, the detection of the crosstalk quantity by the second head is executed by the scanning of one track only in one direction. Therefore, the section where the crosstalk quantity can be detected is set long regardless of the track format. Thus, the crosstalk quantity is excellently detected.</p> |
