<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with which image non- uniformity or alignment defect caused by spacer beads is prevented and sharp display with no contrast reduction is enabled by arranging the spacer beads only at non-pixel parts on a substrate. SOLUTION: The spray position of a spacer is controlled into non-pixel area. Concerning spray beads 8, spacer beads 1 are dispersed in compressed air or nitrogen gas, and charging is applied until they are carried to the spray port of a beads spray nozzle 9. A color filter 2 is formed on a transparent substrate 3, a black matrix 5 is formed around it and an alignment layer 4 is formed at the upper part of that black matrix. The black matrix 5 uses a conductive member and by grounding this member, an electrostatic latent image can be formed. The spacer beads 1 can be sprayed only at non-pixel parts without being stuck on the side of the same pole. Besides, the spacer beads 1 can be stuck on the side of opposite poles by selecting the charging polarity but in such a case, it is necessary to inversely form the electrostatic latent image.</p> |
