PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of realizing an ozone-less state, the reduction of cost, miniaturization and power saving by providing a transfer member with a ferroelectric layer where pyroelectric property by dipolar orientation is not lowered with time and which is not cracked and made excellent in wear resistance, shape retention and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: In this image forming device provided to be opposed to an image carrier and equipped with the transfer member transferring a toner image on the image carrier to recording material, the ferroelectric layer at least in the dipolar orientation state is provided on the transfer member and is constituted of an inorganic sintered body obtained by directly sintering inorganic ferroelectric material at high temperature.
