<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein existing techniques for converting input speech data into characters make it difficult to tell from output data which format the original data was in when data converted from speech data to text data and data originally input in text format are mixed. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus can convert the representation format of data into another representation format, and outputs data that has been converted or has not been converted, in association with identification information representing the status of conversion and representation format.
