<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize quick reduction process without analysis of an image data and also assure that a user can discriminate, without any problem, an image having been completed the reduction process. <P>SOLUTION: Reduction process is conducted based on a reduction rate table of different reduction rates in accordance with a position in the predetermined direction of a document image (for example, in the main scanning direction). Thereby, the image data having been completed the reduction process is transmitted with facsimile and is outputted on a sheet.
