1. A surgical instrument comprising:
a first member extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end including a first jaw having a first inner surface; a second member comprising a second inner surface that defines a passageway having the first member disposed therein such that the first member is rotatable relative to the second member about the longitudinal axis, the second member extending between a first end and a second end including a second jaw having a third inner surface that faces the first inner surface and is spaced apart from the second inner surface; and a third member connected to the first end of the first member to relatively translate the second ends, the third member including a part and a locking element engageable with the part, wherein the part is disposable in a first locking orientation such that the first and third inner surfaces engage a spinal construct, a second locking orientation such that the part disengages the locking element and is biased relative to the third member and a non-locking orientation such that the part is moved relative to the third member and the second locking orientation such that the first and third inner surfaces disengage the spinal construct. |
