1. A fibre-based intra-articular spacer stabilized against fraying, comprising:
two or more layers of flat-knitted thermally shrinkable poly(urethane urea) fabric joined to each other, wherein the two or more layers of flat-knitted poly(urethane urea) fabric each have a warp and a weft and the two or more layers of flat-knitted poly(urethane urea) are crimped in a direction either along the weft or perpendicular to the weft; one or more interlaced sections separated by one or more non-interlaced sections of the spacer disposed equidistantly along the intra-articular spacer, wherein the interlaced section extends over the two or more layers of flat-knitted thermally shrinkable poly(urethane urea) fabric; a first cut edge at an area of abutment between the one or more interlaced sections and the one or more non-interlaced sections; and a second cut edge formed only in the non-interlaced section and in less than all of the two or more layers of flat-knitted thermally shrinkable poly(urethane urea) fabric. |
