A method for treating a nerve injury disease, which comprises administering umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells to a nerve cell injury region of a subject in need of treating the nerve injury disease, wherein the method further comprises administering an agent which is selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, retinoic acid, and insulin,
wherein the umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells are administered as a culture of the umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells and neural precursor cells, wherein the nerve injury disease is selected from the group consisting of hypoxic ischemic brain injury, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and traumatic central nervous system disease, and wherein the administering umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells to a nerve cell injury region induces differentiation of neural precursor cells of the subject or neural stem cells of the subject into neural cells and proliferation of the resulting neural cells. |
