PURPOSE: To provide a surgical needle that is easier to handle and enables a more accurate operation. CONSTITUTION: In a surgical needle 2, the surfaces of a punching end 6 and the section 8" of the needle 2 adjacent to the end 6 and occupying up to about 50% of the length of the needle and/or the surface of the rear portion 10" of the needle 2 capable of occupying about 50% of the needle length and extending to a thread attaching portion 12 are flat finished or colored by a chemical or electrolytic means or by a cover, either continuously or with small slits. The surface of the remaining portion 14 of the needle 2 is constructed of a bare or untreated metal. |
