PURPOSE:To produce the crystalline fine hollow body high in strength and homogeneity, good in flowability and low in alkali content by converting the liq. dissolving or dispersing an inorg. material into a fine droplet and introducing the fine droplet to a high temp. atmosphere to form the hollow body. CONSTITUTION:The inorg. material such as silica, alumina or its precursor is dissolved or dispersed in teh liq. medium such as water and ether. Then, this soln. or dispersion 1 is formed to the fine droplet using an atomizer 2, then introduced to a tubular furnace 3. This furnace 3 is composed of a reaction tube 4 and a heater 5, and the fine droplet is passed through the reaction tube 4 by the air flow generated by the volume expansion due to the evaporation of the liq. medium of the droplet. The droplet is converted into the crystalline fine hollow body, and the hollow body is introduced to a filter 8 for recovering via a pipe 6 and recovered. |
