PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma address type display device preventing disconnection failure of a cathode electrode and improved in yield, quality, and reliability. SOLUTION: This is a plasma address type display device provided with a back plate as a discharge area 38 formed by the space made by sticking a dielectric film 32 via striped barriers 28 onto plasma substrate on which plural striped anode electrodes 26 and cathode electrodes 27 are arranged in parallel, and filling the space with an ionizable gas, a color filter substrate 40 having a transparent electrode 45, and a liquid crystal layer 41 provided between the back plate and the color filter substrate 40. The cathode electrodes 27 has a laminated structure consisting of a close part 27a formed of an aggregate of nickel particles of 1μm-2μm and a coarse discharge part 27b of an aggregate of nickel particles of 10μm-20μm formed on this close part 27a and contributing to plasma discharge in the discharge area 38.
