The invention relates to a vehicle seat, in particular, a motor vehicle seat, with a height adjuster (9). A locking device (13, 23, 36, 38) is provided by means of which the height of a seat frame, pertaining to the vehicle seat, may be adjusted relative to the vehicle structure. Said locking device (13, 23, 36, 38) comprises a crash lock (31, 33, 36, 38), which provides an alternative means for the transmission of forces, between the seat frame and the vehicle structure, in the event of a crash.
