摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce persistence of vision while increasing relative luminance while reducing in an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal device or the like. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is provided with a plurality of pixel sections (10p) which are arranged in a planar manner in an image display region (10a) and driving means (101, 104, 160 and 170). The driving means drive the plurality of the pixel sections in an active matrix manner so that a display image is displayed in the image display region corresponding to image signals (Si) and an all over black image is superimposed and displayed on the display image in a time division manner with a time equivalent to two or more times of the frame period of the display image.
