<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate control of a spot diameter of a light-emitting element of a line printer head. <P>SOLUTION: A pulse generating part 61 provided for every light-emitting element 21, when printed image data Da are supplied, generates drive pulse Pa of PWM type corresponding to them, and supplies to a drive transistor 62. The drive transistor 62 supplies electric current to the light-emitting element 21 corresponding to the drive pulse Pa. A DA transfer circuit 63 generates a control voltage Vctl corresponding to control data Dc established beforehand for every light emitting-element 21, and impresses voltage on a control electrode 54.
