PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction restoration method reducing an amount of waste ink generated in the restoration treatment while keeping the suction restoration performance of an ink flow path, and an inkjet recording device. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device includes a recording head discharging ink droplets from a nozzle row, a cap member abutting on the nozzle row, an ink tank supplying ink to an ink chamber of the recording head, and the ink flow path feeding ink from the ink tank to the ink chamber. In the suction restoration method, the nozzle row of the inkjet recording device is subjected to a negative pressure generation process generating a negative pressure in the recording head via the cap member for suction restoration. In the negative pressure generation process, a flexible valve set between the ink chamber and ink flow path and a control valve controlling flow of gas and liquid of the negative pressure generation process are opened/closed.
